Be very careful with any email claiming to be from Microsoft about "your Windows 10 upgrade". Make sure that any links in the email really go to Microsoft. Better yet, do not click on any link or open any attachment, but go to the Microsoft website for more information.

This article discusses the malware and how to avoid it, including a utility that locks down Windows to prevent infection by the Cryptolocker malware. Note, however, that Micky tried this utility and it seemed to add an unwanted program to the computer that had to be removed. Once everything is encrypted, the malware posts a ransom notice demanding money.
